RPMs Problem

I tried to search for this but it just gives me a fatal error page. When I put my car in gear my rpms go up to about 1500 and stays there. My rpms are fine at IDLE around 600 to 700. The car is a 1995 5speed.

I have cleaned the TB, IAC, Intake, all of the sensors are within the correct numbers....

Thanks

In the Stickies it tells you to unplug the TPS and start car and adjust idle.Did you do this after the cleaning?

If that doesn't work, you should just go ahead and adjust the whatchamacallit. That's the piece that connects to the doodad right next to the primary widget.

Maybe the slight movement on the mounts when you put it in gear is causing the throttle cable to move the butterfly, check the cable is not catching anything and has the correct play.

ok, I have done all of the above and the idle is normal but once again, no matter what gear I put it in (not moving) the rpms go to 1500..... very wierd. Anything else I can try?

I would look around for vacuum leaks, espcially around the air intake hose. Look between the ribs for cracks. My $.02.

The computer tells the car to raise the RPMs a little when it's in gear... Mine idles at 700 and goes up to 8-900 or so when i put it in gear with the clutch in, just a little huh... not 1500 rpm... someone here prolly knows exactly what the prollem is.
