Uneven wear from Raybestos QS

I had Raybestos Quietstop installed ~2 years ago on the front of my '97 Max. ~6000 miles ago, I notice everytime when I do light braking, my steering wheel just vibrate like crazy. When I did my oil change ~5000 miles ago, my mechanic re-surface the front rotors and it was good until ~1 month ago. The steering wheel vibration doesn't come up when I stop harder, but since I do a lot of city driving, it is really hard. At first I thought maybe it wasn't installed properly. Then I read this link,

http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaBrakePads

I guess I am not the only one then. Anyway, my mechanic told me that I need to change the front brake (rotor/pads) next time when I do oil change because the rotors are too think to re-surface. I am thinking about getting the PBR Deluxe Plus instead.

Just want to share with your guys.

Axxis makes a really nice pad, I have the ceramic ultimates on CDS rotors, far superior to the oem steup. I have heard alot of good things about the Hawk HPS pads as well. No cracks on the CDS rotors, almost two years and the axxis ultimate pads wear even and stop good, cold and hot.

What is the full name of CDS rotors? Any website? I googled the term but nothing came up.

Judging from my experiences, I can totally understand your feeling now. They are very quiet though and provide good braking. But now, it is kind of scary whenever I do light braking going downhill and the steering wheel starts shaking like crazy.

I did some research, and I am thinking either OEM pads or Hawk HPS, on some rotors from local auto stores.

Just look on ebay for rotors, mine were $120 for 4 cross drilled slotted with a zinc coating to prevent rust. If I were to get another set I would get the ones that are painted in the middle where it bolts up, comes in many colors.
I would get Hawk HP or HPS or axxis pbr deluxe or pbr ultimates, I had oem pads on first and they were not a good combo with the CDS rotors. Stopping was night and day difference when I put on the axxis ultimates, far superior to the sad oem pads. I wouldn't even take them for free, they are garbage.

Each to their own. I just hope you like buying rotors, lots of brake dust, and lots of squeaks if you use the Axxis Ultimates.

You really hate them huh....I have not had any problems with the CDS rotors or axxis ultimate pads, stop good and quiet, and dusting is not any more of an issue than oem. Really the ceramic dust washes off alot easier w/o using alot of cleaner.
