Its a good deal, but no matter what its still auto. Trust me man, an auto and a 5spd maxima are completely different cars. Trust me, i had both.

Yes, I have both, and the difference is night and day. I would be inclined to pass on this as well. How many miles does your current Maxima have?

It's an ok deal, I could have bought a 98 with 54K over a year ago for $5500 loaded with SE package but I passed and bought another.

I'd pass. There is a 98 SE 5-speed here locally with like 85K miles on it if I remember right for $5000. I passed because of the leather in the car.

I myself would pass. I would be hard to pull a profit from the car being that the price is already at $6.7k, its a good deal for that price, but not so much a good deal for $7,700 or $8,700. I think you'd be luck to break even if your plan its to buy and resell. To Resell, to help strenthen the price, it would be good to do a oil change, change sparks, PCV valve, clean TB, IACV, run a fuel treatment, this is going to start to add up and cut into profits some assuming you'll be able to make some. . .

to cut my rant short, Pass on it. Maybe if you know someone who would need to car, pass the info to them.

I bought a 98 5-speed black w/ black leather with......160,000 miles for $5,000 in October. Happy as a pig in ****. Love the car. Runs great. That car has less than half the mileage. It is an auto though. That would be a great car for someone. Not me. I love to SHIFT_. Buy it if you want to keep it. Good luck making any $$$ off of it.

yes, i agree...offer them cash straight up for a lower price. I think its an OK deal at best. But being the buyer i am i'd like it for a little over 6K. Remember, just because everyone else is buying them for around that price or even more, does not make it an amazing deal. Be aggressive without pushing the seller away. goodluck

i say pass on it. I bought my 98 i30 with 78k for 6300. I know i got a deal on it, but i don't think what i paid was a super deal. might be a super deal to you, but hey, i also got a 98 ford windstar for $500 that runs fine and a 01 f4i for $3500. I guess i just wait till there's a deal that i really can't pass up. This one i DEF. could pass up. I wouldn't even think about buying it honestly.

Wow, this definitely sounds like an impulse buy, but I can see the allure in it. I got my 97 i30 @ 60.5K for $6900 and although I thought I was getting a great deal, my investment sum quickly increased. A few things to consider: First did this Mr. Rogers family ever leave the car undriven in a damp location for a prolonged period of time? If so then your car may have gonorrhea, the silent killer. Check for rust. You may be one of the lucky few who aren't much affected by this. Personally, I needed a radiator support due to the front crossmember deteriorating from rust. Also, the Alternator was probably two-thirds fried when I got it because it died quickly. How's the condition of the starter, cause you know 95-01 all start going bad after about 9 years, right? Did anyone mention spark plugs, belts, and filters? How about a tranny/radiator flush? Brake system maintenance? If you plan on reselling I would say don't bother, let the next guy take care of it, but if you're looking to keep it for yourself and maximize (no pun intended) the value of your property, most of these things will require a resource input, whether its time or money, or both. Then again, the best things in life are worth fighting for. Congratulations on the new project.
