Help me decide, 234/45/17 or 245/45/17 what would be diff.
245 is wider than 235 therefor alowing better stability and cornering. the 45 vs 40 is the side wall a 45 has a taller side wall giveing you a bigger tire the 40 gives you a lower profile look. I persally would get 245-40-17 cuz your gonna have good stability and control and not overly soft or hard ride.

Except, of course, for the thorny issue of rim width. And is it just me, or do we keep going over the same ground time and time again?

Yeah and we all know how lazy we get to look in the FAQ's for some things

hehe....true, but the issue of putting 235 or 245 tires on the stock 7" rims is strange. Some say not to do it, while others say it is no problem. Nitto says their tires will work with that, while other manufacturers say theirs won''t. A lot of gray area when it comes to this topic....

I am looking at either the Nitto 555's or the Kuhmo 713's
