In talks with two dealers right now! Tips, suggestions? Thoughts?

Hey guys, I'm in talks with two dealers on two Maxima SE's. The first is a 2002 SE, 6 speed manual, leather, bose etc etc...basically everything except nav. Dunno if it has Limited Slip Differential or not. 47k miles priced at 16,998. Their first counter offer was for 15,400. I shot them with 13,8 at that point and am waiting on another counter offer. What would you pay for this car? It does have the balance of the factory drivetrain warranty.

The other is a 2003, similar car with 51k miles. Currently sitting at 15,7

I checked NADA and Kelley Blue Book for you and even with more miles, the 2003 is higher priced, so they might not go as low as they would with the 02. What do you like, its mostly up to you- are they the same color? Both 6 spd? Test drive both cars extensively, take 'em to the highway, make a lot of turns etc. They should be fine with that, if not then theirs some reason why they dont want you to drive it. I think, although i'm not sure, that the 2002's had slightly more problems than 03, other members would be able to elaborate. Go back and look at both of them after you drive, walk around the car see if you can find any dings or scratches, if you look hard enough youll probly start to see one car standing out more than the other.

Those are pretty good prices, after looking at both used car values online- theyll probly offer you back 14,9 on the 02, which is pretty good although see how much you can talk down the 03. Even though it has 4k more miles, youll put that on the 02 in a few months and youll have a car a year up instead of a year older, but its not like age or miles has ever affected a maxima before haha, either car is awesome though, it comes down to condition and what they're willing to drop the price to. If your worried about warranty, ask them to throw in an extended warranty on the 2002 if they wont go down in price

I didn't recieve a counter offer at all on the 02. I can't take them for extensive test drives because I live 500 miles from where the 02 is and 300 miles from the 03 and another 200 miles from another 02 now in question.

I had a buddy check out the silver02 last night and get me about 2 dozen pics. The car is pretty damn clean, the interior is just amazing. Back seats still have some sorta of little factory stickers on the seats down by the seatbelts. Little circle stickers about the size of a dime?

I'm gonna see how it pans out with these other two and then email the dealer back on the 02 that I really want and see what they say.
