left side of bose cutting out?
left side of bose cutting out?
not sure if anyone else has this problem but 80% of the time im driving the whole left side of the stereo system cuts out but not completely and on the radio everything works perfect its only on a cd. any suggestions?
There a ribbon cable connector in the cd player that has a poor connection, you basically have to disect the unit and move the ribbon cable to make a better connection. I have an excellent PDF writeup by Chris.s at TMEC but I don't know how to post it up.
it would be great if you could email me that at adam@syncinc.net i appreciate that much much! thanks

Unless you do something to make sure that it doesn't come loose again, you're going to experience this problem again in the future. I may use that how-to to fix my old Bose head unit, but I've already replaced it with an aftermarket one and an OEM amp adapter.

I'll keep my bose until it starts giving me issues at which point I'm swapping it for something

3 months later the alpine got stolen $450 out the window lol so i put the bose back in i forgot about the left side turning off so im driveing to work hit a bump f@@k there it goes again

60*4 now...wow...I worked at bby for 7 years and have had experiences with no less than a half a dozen brands of car decks. Pioneer has always been my favorite. Best sound for the money. Not always the most feature packed but the best sound by far and they're more durable...

It's really straight forward. You unplug the wires from the back of your stock radio and plug them into one end of the OEM amp adapter. The other side of the adapter has a bunch of color coded wires. You just match the colored wires on the adaptor with the colored wires coming from your new aftermarket radio and splice them together. Then you use a small screwdriver to adjust the gain on the left front, right front, left rear, and right rear until it sounds like you want it to sound (very easy).

It is single DIN. The stock unit is double DIN. I just used the free dash kit that Crutchfield sent me, so now I have a radio and a pocket/storage bin where my old fat radio used to be. I've heard other Org members say that an OEM dash kit from a Maxima GXE looks better than any aftermarket dash kit if you're converting to a single DIN head unit, but my aftermarket dash kit was free, and it looks good enough that I don't think it would be worth it to spend money on an OEM one from a GXE.
