If so, what is the SE Part#??? The SE strut OEM is Tokico, right? Stiffer than the GXE. Just wanted to double check. I think I'm going to do the tires 225/60-15, struts all around, and alignment done all at once...that should make it drive smooth as glass with any luck.

And what exactly is this "mini-strut" thing we have in our rears??? how does it differ from a standard strut?

Those tires are pretty tall. I had them on my car when I bought it used and they were the first thing to go. They really change the whole look of the car and make it set up a bit higher. i wouldn't go with anything taller than 55s. You might try a 225-235/55 You'd probably be happier with the performance too (less sidewall to fold over and flex in hard cornering and a wider tire). As far as the part numbee I'm not sure but your local dealer can tell you. And yes the struts will fit your GXE

Yeah the shocks will fit, but the dealer will charge you an arm and a leg for them. Just get normal tokico's and get some springs while you're at it. H*R's are good for ride quality and lowering.

About the tires...I have 215/60's on there right now (stepped up from stock 205/65's)...the cross refrence table on one of the websites showed that the 225/60's were within 1/10th of an inch the same diameter, and that the 55's had more of a size difference (and the 225/55's are harder to find and a lot mroe expensive). Will a 235/55 fit on the stock 15" steel rims without too much bulge?

They should. Though you can probably pick up a set of stock 16" wheels from a junkyard pretty cheap. And then go with the 235s. But they should work on the stock 15" steel rims. They are 6" wide. Though you may want to check with tire rack. They've got great people who can answer almost any ??? and they'll give you a good deal.
