I have a 95 SE auto, 210k, been hearing grinding/clanking noise that's progressively getting worse. I lifted the front of the car up and put it in gear, and the noise seems to original at the end of the cv axle when it goes into the transaxle. It sounds like a broken part clanking around. Is my transmission going out, or could it be a bad axle? I haven't noticed any shifting problems while driving. There does seem to be noise after I lifted the front end and shifted gears, from park to reverse and drive.
