speedo works, but odometer doesn't

I just put a rebuilt tranny in my 95 maxima and everything runs great except that my speedo works, but my odometer doesn't. Is there something I forgot to plug in? Shouldn't the odometer work if the speedometer works?

It shouldn't be related to anything you did. If the speedo is working and not the odometer then the problem is in the speedometer head itself.

look back into your mess that you call a 3.5 swap

if it happened right after you installed something, check over your installation, after my manual swap, i forgot to plug in my speed sensor, and I didnt even notice, took the girlfriend to point it out to me.

I installed the speedometer pinon into the transmission and connected it and therefore the speedometer works. Is there something else for the odometer?

I would check the speed sensor. It is coincided with the odometer as well.

Well, the odometer started working again today, but the trip odometer still doesn't work. So I guess the instrument cluster is clusterf@cked. Oh, well it's got 180k miles on it now. These kind of things are to be expected.
