Genisys 2.0 Scan Tool-TIMING ADV.

Does anyone have any experience with this piece of equiptment? My dad just got one for his shop and I was wondering if I could use it to advance my timing like I've heard you can get the dealer to do. I've been playing around with it for about a week and it seems like a nifty little tool. Just wanting to know if anyone has used it before and if there is anything special I can do with it.

I posted this in the General Discussion & 4th gen forums also so I could get the most feedback...

info on the scan tool I am referring to can be found at the link below. it was about $5000 for the system so I am thinking it should work. this is not a crapy partsstore code reader...

Play around with it some more & let us know then. You're the one who has it so try & see if you can or not.

On a 97 you cannot permanently advance timing with any scan tool that I'm aware of, either OBDII or Nissan Consult/Consult clone.

that's my problem I have been playing with it for about a week with no luck. I was just thinking maybe someone else had messed with it and I was overlooking something. I have been told you can't do it with it anyway now.
