Laptop OBD2 Software
I bought a laptop for travel, since I was taking 2 month long trips, now I have no real use for it other than AOL while i'm in the garage. Does anyone know any good programs, or have experience with any? I need a USB for the computer hookup. Looking to do the basics, and maybe some tuning.
Heres 1 I have found -

I found another, but can't find the bookmark
Thanks, Tank

This is a Nissan Consult interface cable - I don't think it is OBD related.
With the Nissan Consult you can see alot of engine parameters check out the screenshots on that site, also there have been quite a few post in this forum about a month ago that cover all this

OBD Scantech worked when Nissan Datascan didn't, download and try it out, it has a FREE trial.
To get the Nissan Datascan going.. when it doesn't show values.. set all the gauges to RPM & Speed, then change the gauges to what you want to monitor.. by default it tries to read sensors you don't have so gives you 0 info at all.

Similar yes. Not as fully functional as the Consult although it has some of the features like active tests etc but for datalogging FAR better than an OBD scanner as the Consult port is many times faster, especially on the 4th gen.
BUT these software programs only work on Consult I, not Consult II. As far as Maximas go that means only 4th gen and lower. Consult II was instituted in 2000. Furthermore, I'm not sure 98+ will work either. Haven't tested it yet. But it does work on 96.

I'm trying to put together a Consult-to-USB cable to connect DataScan to my onboard laptop. Does anyone know if the value of the gauges in DataScan are customizable like in the Alex Peper Car-Code? Can you set the maximum value, redline, etc?
If the Consult port gives a faster reading then I'll just go with that, although I'd love to get the Alex Peper to work.. i just need a darn registration key!
