Maybe I'll get banned for this... maybe not.... I just need to rant on about you idiots for once.
Honestly I'm sick and tired of all you freakin newbies (not all of you, so don't ***** at me if you're new and not a fooking retard like the others).
I used to post in the 4th gen forum alot because it was filled with GOOD threads, not retards asking the most idiotic questions in the world....
gas mileage, y-pipes, mufflers, head lights, how to do the easiest shiz in the world...
I know this won't help a bit, and the newbs will never go away...
Just think of this as an online punch in the face. No i'm not going to get into an e-thug fight with any of you, and if you are new to the forums and you aren't retarded, don't get offended because i'm not calling you out.... People that have been here for over a year post stupid ish just as much as the "newbie just registered" ***** do.
If you're going to join an automotive forum, please, fuking please AT LEAST know something about how to even drive a damn car, no less WORK on it....
Theres plenty more to be said, but i'm leaving it at this...
me all you want.... call it a
...... or
me for a few days ...
I just had to get this **** out

The only thing I will say is that there are all levels of people on this site from the ones who don't know what trim they drive to the ones that are paving the way with FI and making innovations for our cars.
In a way that is what attracted me to this site in the 1st place. If the whole site was like say, All motor or forced induction level I would have been way less likely to participate. Now, I mainly read those, OT and the regionals and step into 4th gen when I feel I can help (alright and BASH sometimes...).
I just think people should know when to READ and when to POST.

I agree with you, I have seen the 4th gen forum change alot in the years I have been a member. It would be great if the newbies had to read all the FAQ's before they are allowed to post. I dont know how that would be possible though. I too am tired of seeing the same sort of threads everyday, Questions that can be answered by reading FAQ's and using your brain a little.

We are here to educate each other. But it DOES get annoying when people post a new thread instead of taking time to search if their subject has been discussed in other threads, filled with information.. I am pretty sure every subject in the book has been discussed here, it's just that not everyone is willing to do a little research.
It doesn't matter what forum your on all of these same questions will constantly be asked. I for one when I get my 04-05 TL am going to ask a lot of stupid exhaust, suspension and supercharger questions. There is a big diff between websites. There are no technical mod FAQ's on acurazine.com but on this website there is. Now for whatever reason nubz can't seem to understand read the stickies that's their business. We were in the same boat at once. You haven't been here long enough to have seen the changes. Now a days with a 20k yearly income anyone can buy a fairly decent 4th gen for 5k or less. So that's why its been over packed with stupid questions.
Hondas aren't in this offense either. No offense to nissan but honda is a better over all car manufacture. Nissan has flopped the sentra, altima and maxima all look a like now. There are no real major differences.

dont personally attack someone you dont know like that - i promise you he knows more about cars and can do more to them than you can. so do some growing up yourself and quit showing your age.
I have to agree w/ blackmaxx on this. We were alllllllllllll newbies at one point and there is a difference between intro questions and dumb questions. Bottom line is the 4th gen forum needs to grow up in general, stop posting dumb threads and show some respect.

I don't see the direct correlation between Hondas and newbs... but honestly some people DO just ask pointless questions that are answered with an extra click or two. What has happened to self dependence? Imagine it this way, if you would not ask or say something in person, then don't ask it online. I’m sure all of you have egos and it is definitely easier to ask things online behind the mask of a username...

...look at what you wrote. Does that look like an intelligent thing to say? I sure hope not, because to the rest of us you look like a narrow minded fucking retard. GTFO.
I installed my salad bar wing, fart muffler, and even cut my own springs. I'm the shizzle.
But I want to know is. The tornado air work? Or what about the 50+HP speedchip on ebay? And my stock ypipe looks to be rusted. What is the best ypipe out there?
And how about changing the system in the car so I can turn the visor sideways and bump the techno.
You newbs act like this is some club....
My exhaust turn sideways with a five inch tip
Race a zo6 took home his pink slip
Apc decals and two racing strips
Four ion blue daytime running lights
Went to pepboys and bout all the neon lights
Its like las vegas when you see me at night
When you see me coming get the hell out of my way
I gotta cruise to the mall cause you know its Friday
When you wanna race your *** will get tossed
Throw it in neutral and rev up the exhaust
Civic is more like a rocket than a car
Youd be saying to yourself "DANG IS THAT A TYPE R"

I agree that people need to know when to read and when to post. I myself have been a reader, and by reading, i know ALOT more about cars in general becuase of this site. So i thank you for that.
I just think people, (i'm not gonna just say noobs because sometimes even people with over 200 posts ask questions that seem fairly common sense, but they may have never come across it) should do one very simple thing. READ THE FAQ's. B/c of the FAQs it gave me the idea of picking up a haynes manual and that helped me excel in my knowledge to the maxima even further.
I think there should be some kind of admin action to mabye, FORCE New Members as soon as they sign up to read and be alerted of the FAQ's BEFORE they can put up their first post.
I donno.
just puttin in my own 2¢
I agree with Blackmax ... some of this stuff does get rediculous and repetitive... but we all have the power to just ignore it ... I can see how it can be hard sometimes though ... some of the threads I see are just plain dumb .... I guess it all comes with the territory
it's a free country man, or at least as free as the moderators here allow it to be. no one will ever be able to stop dumb threads or retarded replies to threads. if you don't wanna here it, change the station or flame away. what can you do???

Like I said.... I'm not gonna get pissed if people flame me.
I had a bad night and decided to post a rant thread....
To the kid that said my car looked stock: Hah.
Just becaue I don't have a body kit on my car doesn't mean it looks stock, or is anywhere near stock. I would almost guarantee that I have more invested in my suspension than you do on your entire car. Pleae do research before you get extremely heated towards a single person.
I have no life?? I own my own business, I am the manager of the 2nd highest daily gross income coffee shop in Chapel Hill, play in two bands, and do studio sit in's at least 4 times a month for various artists..... You're right, I do sit at my computer alll night....
You know more about cars? Wow, you did an engine swap... I will admit, some can be hard projects to take on, so i'm not going to flame you for saying that...... But I'm not even going to get into the list of engine swaps i've done........ those are weekend exscursions for me....And just to let you know, I did pass the ASE test....
So i'm sure you know more about cars than I do...... .
:
Ahhh, so now that i'm done with that.
I'm not getting heated at new people that ask legit questions, and are here to learn. I don't like the newbs that post questions about the same topic as three other threads that are on the SAME PAGE. I don't like newbs that get pissed, call out a person for who they are and "what they know" and then go on thinking they're better than that person..... point proven.
Have a good night

I'm a newb and I really do not know much about cars... That's why I am here along with most of the people asking stupid questions... it only makes sense to come to a car forum if you know nothing about cars, where else would I learn something?
I also only came here to ask 1 question, but this site really doesn't help people hoping to get into learning about their car.. I can't search, so when I am allowed to post new threads, I'll probably post retarded threads that have already been answered. It's really the rules on the site that make newb posters as bad as they are... For example, you gotta have 15 posts before starting a new thread, that just says to post ***** for a little for newbs just so they can get their questions answered. Not being able to search also adds to the problem, someone could easily search to see if their question was already asked and answered.
Anyways, every forum hates newbs with dumb *** questions, but a big thing about these sites (and any forum really) is that they're there for everyone (even the dumbest of dumb people) to interact. Also, I'm not knocking the forum rules either, this forum as been around for a long time and is successful the way it is, so I am not saying those things should be changed, but I feel it is those things that add to the problem on the forum.

But it is nice to know that I could always just pm some of the older members here. And I did read the FAQ's along with other 'sticky' threads in a few of the different forum sections. And also thanks for clearing up why the 15 post thing is here, I can definitely understand that.
I think it'll be good if someone can compile a list of top 10 questions that newbies would ask and sticky them, otherwise we'd see a lot of repetitious thread which would **** orgers such as blackmax off... done and done...
The 15 post rule should be an indication that the people around here want you to read around and contribute a little before you post your own thread. It does not mean that you thread ***** until you get the required posts needed to post your own stupid thread.
I have owned my Maxima for over 5 years now and I just signed up for the .org in Jan. Prevoiusly, I was able to have all my questions answered just by searching and reading through the 1,000s of pages of old threads. While I do not consider myself an expert, I have taught myself everything I know about cars through this website and the links provided herein. Sorry guys, but when I read a thread that says "I have a poblem w/ check engine light, I am getting the codes for knock sensor and O2 sensor, what do I do?" Are you Fu!*!ng kidding? You just answered your own question, but still need to waste other peoples time. Everyone would benefit everyone if the post count total was not the way that people around here felt important. Not to say that everyone around here isn't helpful. I have gotten much help from this website, but I guess I am saying, please don't jump into a thread just to give a emoticon and some stupid comment just to add +1 to your post count.
p.s. - If you want to do some extra research, I have learned most of my general car knowledge through reading magazines like Sport Compact Car, Super Street, Motor Trend, etc. They are always working on cars similar to ours, and most of the theory and practical applications are very similar to our cars. The org is for help, not for people to have any piece of information they want spoon fed to them.

It's a matter of perspective. Some people actually WANT to learn as much as they can about their car. Others just want to know about a particular project or when something goes wrong. It's a part of life, just like death and taxes. A co-worker just bought a Maxima and I gave him all the resources to read so he could be eduated. He hasn't read them yet; he just keeps asking me crazy stuff. It does get frustrating at times.

well blackmax sorry for making an opinion poll about 9007 headlight bulbs. i guess it is unreasonable to ask others about their experiences with some things. not only that, i looked for some time and couldnt find any real compilation on the topic, just assorted commentary interspersed with other topic threads. all i wanted to know was which pair come the most favored by people who do know what they are doing and have the time to try out alot of different things. yes, i have just recently gained access to the max and yes, i dont know as many specifics about this car as others but i do read the stickies a lot. im only saying something because it would seem i was specifically refered to in post #1. i can understand your frustration with people who dont take the time to look at stickies or down the threads to around 4 or 5 months back (without search, i find myself doing this a lot) to find information about something or if someone had already asked the question that didnt show up in the stickies. you complain about stupid questions, but like many people already said there are always people who are new. are 2nd graders "stupid" because they dont know calculus and you do? would a surgeon call you "stupid" because you cant remove someones prostate (a frequent surgery) and he and other doctors can? relativistically speaking, theres most always "stupid" people and some with more knowledge than others on any given issue. to a degree, you are correct, blackmaxx, but consider a more general picture of what it is this forum is composed before you get so upset.

we need more threads like this.
