Any one raced A4?! WOOHO~!!
i've raced 2 Audi A4's tonite.
when i was looking for some place to get some drinks with my friend tonite, there's an A4 tailgate me, i was driving at 70km/h where the speed limit was 50, and i kept on the right lane already. i dunno what that guy's up to. anyway, he eventually changed to the left lane, and when he was at my blind spot, i could hear he suddenly floored his NICE A4. i think, "fine, u wanna get busted. sure, u deserve it". then, i floored my max like a sec later than him. of course he couldn't get a chance to pass me. so, he slowed down right after.
Then, an hr later, i was driving at 70km/h again on right lane, and i also saw an A4 (yea, it's A4 again), going pretty fast on the right lane in my rear mirror. i waited until he's at my blind spot, and i floored my max again. and u know what, i have no chance to say bye to him, haha!
don't ask me if those were 1.8T or 2.8. does it matter? they r both slow.
after i gave a good "max-show" to 2 A4's, i feel so happy.

tell you what...
if they were quattro's you had a pretty good wieght advantage to begin with...
the 1.8quatrro has 170HP and weighs over 3200 lbs, so only does 0-60 in ~8.5sec. Pretty slow. Now take the 2.8 quattro, 190HP, almost 3400 lbs... still pretty slow, prolly 0-60 in the mid 7's...
Oh yeah, the '02 A4 will have a 3.0L w/ 220HP... HAHAHAHA
let's see, 220HP '02 A4 vs. 260HP '02 Max... gosh, I dunno...
good kills man

Actually, the 1.8T Quattro with mods is pretty fast. My friend has a 1.8T Quattro wich a chip, HKS intake, Brullen Exhaust. He claims that his car has about 200 hp. I've raced him before, off the line, it is slow, but once his turbo provides full boost, its pretty fast, up to about 120-130 km/h(I live in Canada), we were even. Didn't go any higher due to traffic.
yea, i guess the performace of the coming new A4 will be up to AVERAGE. the current one really doesn't worth buy.
and the 1.8 turbo engine sure has potential. i saw one, i'm not sure what mod's it has, a new chips, exhaust, intake for sure, not sure if it got a new turbo as well. it's faster than Audi S4. when i saw it, i was very very surprised. but, in this case, i would prefer to buy a VW GTI 1.8T. it shares the same engine with the A4 1.8T while it's lighter in weight, and a lot cheaper.

raced a 1.8T quattro a while back. off the line, he jumped me by a foot then i came back easeily and took the lead by first. then by about 55-60ish, im about a car and a hlaf in front but the road starts curving. my personal limits would only let the max take the curve at around 70ish mph but the quattro easily took that curve fast and passed me on the curve. after the road straightened out, he was about 1.5-2 cars ahead of me but i was able to pull even at 115mph. they arent too fast but boy, can those quattros hug the road..
yeah, but no quattro. There are lots of 1.8T's out there, ie Jetta's, Golf's, etc. But, there are not a lot of cars that can handle like a quattro, especailly in adverse conditions, maybe a WRX. The 1.8T has the potential of 310+ HP, and with AWD it will always be on the road (although a little heavier and slower).
I've been smoked 3 times times by an AUDI A4
That 2.7 turbo is way quick and off the line and I lose even to the 30mph mark, but its close. By 60 He's a good 2 car lengths ahead and he just keeps spreading the distance. It's a niiiiice machine. But for the 40 large it takes to buy that I'd opt to just just supercharge my max, make it even and buy another car to trick out.
If it's a 1.8 and not modified and you don't win, you're shiftin sloppy.

the 2.7 biturbo is the S4, not A4.
The owner of the shop I formerly worked at has an A4 2.8 Quattro 5 speed. It used to be supercharged, but is currently not. I happened to run into him at a light on a business route, he got about 1 length off the line because of the AWD, but i ran him by about 3-4 lengths to 100. He still had intake, exhaust, and suspension on the car, but no blower anymore.
