New Hinges YAY

well as most with droopy doors know.... it is annoying.

mine were creaking, lots of wind noise from the door not lining up witht he seal, and the clunk when you close.

well here they are ($44 canadian dollars for both) These are for the front drivers side door.

Cool.. If you can, make a mini write up after you complete the install.
If its straight forward, don't bother. I'll be having to do this in a few.
Thanks.

How many bolts do you have to take out to take off the front fender to get to the hinge bolts ?

are you going to paint them? luckilly my current car has no signs of droopydoor. but the black one i just sold had the worst possible case on both front doors. my folks' 3rd gen had the problem when the car only had 90,000 and was just 9 years old. it's definitely annoying.

You guys can't lie that the "doof" we get with the droopy doors when we
close em gives a better quality feel. Sound compares with a door closing
on maybe a $70k+ BMW

I dunno if i am going to paint them as now they have that "zinc" style coating on them.

Just to be fancy though I will probably powder coat them satin black.

The doof is so hi class

Yeah, right?

So what exactly causes the hanging?
The metal gets tired after many years, and just starts to pull down I assume?

I wouldn't paint them black, I think the Zinc looks good. The black will just make it look plain.

My girls door is pretty bad (not extremely bad but bad) she sure could use some new ones too unless there's a way to retighten which I doubt. I could also use some as mine is starting to feel a lil' loose. Damn $44 Canadian..thats kinda pricey for some damn hinges..Good luck with installation and umm try to have another person to hold the door for you.

Brian do you sell these here items?

$44 canadian is a small price to pay for the ease of unbolting/rebolting.

I dont ncessarily think anyone needs a write up for doing them.

However I am sure after looking at a few pics/quick write up you would have an easier time doing the job. The changing of 8 bolts is pretty strait forward but I had already asked if it was better to unplug wires from the inside of the car or unhook them from the door.

I do not think having a wealth of knowledge is necessarily a bad thing even if it is a simple task to undertake. Some people have little to NO experience with mechanical work.

This site when I started coming here was really good and now I find it getting horrible.. Triplegmax your post adds NOTHING to the board in anyway and should not even be posted.

Alos more of the reason I posted the pictures is for the part numbers on the bag/shoiwing the difference between the 2 hinges. This is much the same as Matt (i think ti was him) taking pictures of the VTC rebuild springs.

Honestly does replacing the door hinges make THAT much of an improvement in the sound and feel of the door shutting?? Cause for me that means more to me than 50 bucks because it makes you forget that you are driving a car older than some of your friends.

Also, with respect to the non-noob people on the forum, a write-up (no matter how brief) would be helpful. I'm sure that everyone can un-bolt 8 bolts, but what about the other stuff like how to support the door if you dont have a friend handy (and with our old a$$ 3rd gens they do weight a lot) and what about alignment? Do you have to trial and error your door to make it close correctly or does it just bolt up and you’re done?

Shift_i dont want to see anymore rust

It's sometimes annoying when you close the door and think you shut it,
and it decides to open when you hit a bump while driving,
because you needed to give it that much more umph to shut it properly.
