wet sanding the paint job?
Okay, i know someone was talking about how crappy Nissans paint jobs are on their cars (i agree), and someone here said something about having their car "wet sanded" or something like that and it gave the car a custom painted look. they went on to say that it really gave it a deep mirror finish and for some reason i seem to think they said something about it costing a couple hundred bucks. anybody know anything?
lol, thanks!

Wet Sanding
That sounds like my posting in reference to my Black Ram Air Transam. It was wet sanded at 130.00 and looked like a mirror for the entire 4 years I owned it. It got rid of alot of the orange peel in the paint from clearcoating. I would suspect that you would need to be very...very...very careful w/ a Nissan as the paint SUCKS!!!! GM did have a nice thick coat of paint and lots of clearcoat hence the orange peel effect.
It takes careful patience, alot of water and soap, and super fine sand paper, I think it was 1000 grit plus. It took about three hours and was then treated to sealing the paint and then Pure Carnuba Wax over it. People use to comment that I must clean car w/ glass cleaner to get that finish. Absolutely badass !!!
Honestly, I would try the Zaino bros waxes first as they are quite good and seem to get better w/ additional coats. You must follow the directions though....including Dawn and claybar for similar results. Try www.zainobros.com
