lights out?!?

i opened my trunk and the light started burning and smoking so i disconnected it immediately. I closed the trunk and made sure the car started and the headlightss breaklights and essentials turn on. But im now im left with no key control, door lights, overhead lights, and the door ajar, trunk ajar, lights stay on even when they are closed. Maybe something shorted out? What should i look for and how can i fix this?

One that is tripped you can see the wire within the fuse if one is broken hoo ha you got it. Since it is electrical the problem in nature you can look at the guide on the fuse box cover to narrow your search down.

May be obvious, but make sure you keep the trunk light disconnected when you replace the fuse, and maybe you should redo the wiring near it, since that sounds like the culprit.
