damn headlights.

I love my car, but i cannot deal with these headlights. They were stolen 2x in less than 30 days and this morning in broad daylight again someone tried getting at it and realized he was being watched and must've left. I'm in Philly but plan on moving to NY which is where it happened 2x. Can't they be drilled or something & who does that? Are the 00-01 headlights a perfect fit? Otherwise this car is going forsale. Thanks!

If they want to have them they will take them no matter what you do. Just keep an eye on your car as much as you can. The 00-01 will fit but will leave a gap.

Did you have the Data Dot thing done to your lights when they were stolen?

That's a damn shame.

My co-worker has given up on his Max, had his headlights stolen 4x and he's parting out the Max and sending it to the chopshop.

Yes, theft prevention, it says on the headlight itself.

Data Dot is to prevent the thieves from stealing your lights.. cool.. they will break your car in order to take them......... it is a recall in the North. like NY, MJ etc...

Data dots should help prevent future theft.

FYI...

There was a law suit filed by NJ against Nissan - and Nissan lost...there was a thread with the article in it but i can't find it. Maxima owners got some cut of it, but I don't think it was that much...probably 4-500 bucks - not enough to replace stolen headlights w/OEM ones...

The 02/03's came std. with HID. Those are the ones thieves love to target.

I wouldn't get data dots, cause if they dont get your lights, they will more than likely **** up your fender, or hood tryin to get them, and if they get PISSED cuz your car was such a ***** about the lights comin out... they might key your ****, or damage your car in other ways.

I've heard it happening, so thats why I say hey, take my headlights if you want them THAT bad, but dont damage my car lol.

Just be wary where you park.

I like the Pit Bull idea: hide the dog underneath the car and attack if someone comes close to the headlight at night....lol

Seriously, didn't Nissan offer a bracket that is supposed to lock the headlights to the frame?

There is nothing you can do. I have the data dots, but don't really have much faith in them. Funny thing is theres a brand new Lexus RX350 down the street from my house with it's headlights missing. Boston is like NY if you don't have a driveway and have to park on the street, your a sitting duck...Headlight theft in Boston is also huge.........
