VQ35 swap questions - near swap date

hey, i have a few questions regarding the swap i'm doing this week.

1. Is it possible to use the Crank position sensor (REF) and use the 3.5 oil pans?
2. There's a coolant tube coming from the bottom of the 3.5. Should I plug that up somehow?
3. Can I use the 3.5 crank pulley? (My 3.0 crank pulley is chipped, and doesnt give the correct readings for the crank ref sensor)
4. If I use the stock accessories on the VQ35, what size belt should I use?

Thanks,
-Freddy

Use the 3.5 sensor. I just cut and soldered the wires. That way a) you don't have to change to 3.0 pan b) you don't have to grind the block for the 3.0 sensor to fit. Your 4th gen ECU will be able to read the 3.5 sensor. Just shaped differently.

Oil cooler or coolant? Either way remove the oil cooler and plug up the coolant line.

Probably. I used a motorstorm UDP for 95-99 and had to grind it some or the sensor would hit the pulley.

The REF sensor is the one by the crank pulley.

So for the first paragraph, are you saying you don't have to shave down metal a 1/4" to get the sensor to contact the flywheel correctly?

Why not keep the oil cooler? It's there for a reason.

He's talking about the CPS (REF) which goes by the crank pulley.

you have to use the 3.0 crank pulley. The 3.5 doesn't have the required timming ring on the pulley.

you can use the 2k2 crank(pos) sensor to keep from grinding anything.just switch the connector for the crank(pos) sensor.
