in deed,
i mean i can start my car with it, only like 1000 miles down the road the belt will stretch a little and get a little worn, and it wont fit as tightly as i need, im just wondering how i can run it WITH OUT power steering, and still have my belt tight.

Get a bracket fabbed up with a tentioner on it, or find a way to extend your w/p pulley so you can run everything on one belt. I have one belt that runs the alt and w/p.

Keep in mind that this is an infiniti qx4 water pump, but this should give you an idea. The belt is from a galant IIRC.

The belt has an extra groove on it, so it hangs over, but it is functional still. Hope this helps...

have fun when that belt shreds completely and flies off because of the wrong # of grooves (been there, done that)

I think that i might be able to switch out the wheel on the alternator with a wider one and prevent that.

NICE!!

all i gotta do is put an idler pulley on the altenator bolt like that, i can weld up the altenator to pop out like that,
well ill get started ill let yea know how it goes

... i also have a UR UDP. i dunno if that messes anything else up

You can, just zap poff the nut with an impact and slap on a new pulley, you can also change pulley diameters then too

I'd just get a shorter belt if you are going without the power steering. Just use an old belt that is too long and cut it to size, then take it to the parts store to find one that would work.

then put the stupid pump on and leave out the fluid. Or run one hose to the other and fill the hose mostly up with fluid.

that pump (even if it's not hooked up) will die very quickly w/o fluid
