Little piggies always on my tail..
Guys, I don't know if any one of you have a problem with
5-0, but they keep busting me with the clear side markers that i have. What are the rules and regulations for coloring of side markers ? I just have the clear whites, with blue bulbs.. Those punks, I also have a court date in a few days, someone point me to the source, so I know exactly what "i can and cannot do". ... ... ...

You keep getting pulled over becuase they are illegal. Each state has RCW that states what is legal in your state. One trip to the library a 1 hour of reading is alot cheaper than all those tickets? You *might* be okay if you replaced your blue bulbs(illegal) w/ orange ones.

Just search on the web for the vehicle codes for your state.
For California, you can go to:
www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/vc/vctoc.htm
Then zip down the page to Division 12 - Equipment of Vehicles. That section should tell all of us California drivers what's expected on our cars by law.
Happy reading!

Dude, there is NO way you are going to win this one, the rules are very clear cut. In every state in the Union, blue lamps are for either emergency vehicles or constuction vehicles/slow plows. IF you are from NY, which I am assuming you are from since you are Representin NY, then they are only allowed on your vehilce if you are a volunteer firefighter, and even then, you are only allowed one in the FRONT of the vehicle. You are going to continue running up these tickets unless you change the bulb. Go to court, but dont expect to win. Sorry to tell you.
Actually, I just did some research online, and for those in NY area.. it is legal do have a white light ( the color of my side markers, with a hint of blue, but no where near, fire truck or ambulance blue), as long as it's not blinding. I WILL win this one, have them take it up the ****... =)

I've looked up online if it's legal in my home state (pa - which is where the car is registered) but I live in new hampshire most of the time. so which states codes do I go by? If I go by PA's, does that mean that I can get in trouble in NH if I get pulled over? thanks
Searched the Illinios page and this is what I found...
RUNNING BOARD LIGHTS: These are limited to one on each side. They must be nonglare white or amber lights.
COWL or FENDER LAMPS: Only two lights are allowed. They may be nonglare, white or amber lights.
What's are running board lights??

I believe that you have to abide by the laws of which ever state you're driving in regardless of where your home state is.

heh alright thanks for the help...
actually I have no clue what the cops are like in PA only because I've never been pulled over (knock on wood). I'm actually sort of suprised I haven't gotten pulled over for my license plate lights which are the polarg hyper white which are actually pretty blue-ish. heh oh well.
