I have a foglight stalk, but no foglights....??

I have a foglight stalk installed in my 98 GLE but foglights were never installed on my car.

Does this mean that the relays are installed as well and all i need is to buy the foglights and hook them up to the existing foglight wires?

How would I tell if the relays are there or not?

um.. one of the black box like objectives in your engine bay that is marked fog light relay, look at the slot for it maybe you have the relay.

if so then all you would need is the fogs since its pre-wired already.

something worries me tho about you having the fog switch.

makes me think either there was an accident before and some shop just replaced it or some other things as well.

I'm sure it wasn't nissan who put it there. But thats just worst case, i guess be happy. the stalk normally runs 30$ here on the .org

it was hit in the front right fender before i bought it, that i know for sure, but no foglights were ever installed to my knowledge....the tabs which you have to cut out in order to put the fogs in are still in place.

i dont think the shop would have put those in... take a look....

the tabs are in place and don't look to have been replaced

the foglight switch is on the right im guessin b/c it doesn't work for anything else

the fog relay is on the top right hand corner

probably when it got hit in the front they replaced the bumper cover and just opted not to put the fog lights back on. i mean i hope someone didn't just hook up all that stuff and not put the main part and focus for the whole project in.

those 2 things wouldn't matter if it was hit. because no body shop even looks and or cares for it. Maybe the person who you bought the car from opted for foglight options and had it installed, and after the accident the shop gave it a front bumper and returned it to a STOCK GLE. which didn't ahve the fogs.

insurance company only covers what your car comes with stock. So i'm thinking if i ever get in a froont end accident i would claim my car as a SE, and see if i get fogs.

All of the Maximas are prewired for fog lights. If you look in the factory locations you'll find that the wiring harness is already there. Since you have the foglight switch and relay already, all you'll need are the lights and brackets. Saves you about $50 at least.
