Where do all those 15" wheels and tires go?
Where do all those 15" wheels and tires go?
With so many switching out their stock wheels and rims, I was wondering what people were doing with them. Like, if you were trying to sell them, them what did you get for them?
Stacked mine in the garage along with all my other stock wheels. Someday a use will come along (selling the car and keeping the better wheels?). Winter tires would be a good idea, but, the BBK I'm planning takes care of that idea :-\
mine are just taking up space. I'll probably sell them as soon as I find someone willing to pick them up and pay about 200 -which is probably not going to happen! Otherwise, I'd have to see if some junk yard is willing to swap them for cash and a set of stock 17"'s or 18"s so I can get the BBK
- As soon as I get off my a$$ and start looking!

I have a question about buying 17" wheel packages for my 1998 I30. Basically, I know that the recommended 17" tire size (in terms of keeping the overall tire diameter the same as the stock specs...which is around 24.7") is 225/45/17.
I read somewhere that getting tires/wheels that had more than 5% difference in diameter was bad for the car's brkes, and possibly unsafe.
Anyone else hear this?

lo pros aren't the best for slippery wet conditions. cheaper to get 15" winter tires than 18". also, keeps the expensive 18s in great condition.
