need more details. front or back? this happend to me, i took a nut out and got stuck but i kept on turning with a pipe i had, and it bent the stud till it broke. u gotta take out the rotor, then hammer the stud in so it comes out the back. then, get the new one from autozone or any auto store for a couple of bucks ($2 for mine). and put it in from the back. ur going to need a C clamp cuz u gotta take out the caliper (in my case).

Sad to say, I've had it happen many times...... All you need is the new stud, a mallet or hammer, about four or five washers, depending on the thickness, and your wheel nut.

If its the front wheel, all you need to do is turn the rotor so that the broken stud is to the back end or front end.. dont remember but there is a inward curve to the metal plate behind the rotor, its an opening in that plate to allow the removal and installation of the stud... Anyways, punch out the broken stud with a mallet or hammer, put in the new stud, put the washers on the stud,(the washers will be used as spacers), and attach the nut..... just keep on tightening the nut until you see that the stud is completely in the hole and tight. Thats it!!

Just make sure you use a lot of washers, makes it easier!!

I did mine without removing the rotor. Actually, the back end is almost the same way but you dont have to turn the rotor to a specific position.

There are also instructions in the stickies on how to remove the brakes, if you don't know how to, also remember to put a lug nut (if you can) on the broken stud then pound it out.

I had a stud broken at a tire shop, changed me $50 labor and $5 for the stud :-( it seemed pretty easy when he did it. Just take the caliper off, knock the rotor off, then hammer the stud off. Put a new stud in, and tighten it using a big nut as a spacer.

I see everybody talk about how you need to take off the rotor, but its not true! You dont even have to undo the caliper... Trust me, I replaced almost all ten of the front ones. My car's studs were kind of rusted because the vehicle had been in a flood before I had it.....
Just position the stud where the opening is, knock out the old one, and put the new one in. Slightly hit the back end of the stud with the hammer so it kind of gets squeezed in. Then put in your spacers or washers and tighten the nut so it forces the stud into place. THE END!!

Actually, if I remember correctly, the rears are easier in that you dont have to position them to a specific area. You just punch out the one your wanting to replace, and follow the same procedure with the new stud, washers, and nut.
