Anyone do housecor's rear window wind noise fix?

Has anyone attempted this?

http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/wi...ind_noise.html

I'd like some tips to remove the window seal. Do I just pull on it? Use a flat head?...etc.

And any testimonial as to how much it reduced wind noise would be great too. Thanks!

i did it on my max and it helps alot. My mom drives an i35 and it is so dam loud, i dunt kno how rear passengers can tolerate it. Just pull on it on the corner. And u just have to put the stripping in the right area's. I mean its not dead quite like some cars on the highway but like i said b4, it helps ALOT. Its and inexpensive fix n takes like 15 min max. Just do it, what do u have to lose?
Good luck

yea like he said, just pull. almost the whole top will go, except the part all the way by the front, cuz its bolted on up top and right under the window. u can pull it right off by the little quarter window too. it is a metal beam that holds the rubber fitting

You won't. Just use a similar size.

Was it easy to peel off the the weather strip? And how do you like the difference afterwards?

how loud exactly is this TSB? i mean, i currently don't hear any unusual noise inside the cabin during freeway driving....only road noise from my low profile tires....is this TSB VERY noticeable? should I be worried if I don't hear anything?

I tried to do this once or twice, and I could've sworn I bought something very similar to the size housecor stated, but apparently the stuff I bought was too thick, because I could not get it in there and get the seal to go back all the way. Anybody else have this problem?

i did this on my car a few months ago. it is a great improvement on the wind noise in my car. my foam was thick as well and prevented the trim from going back in all the way at first, but after having the windows up for a week or so it was back to normal.

I swung by my local hardware store today and bought some generic rubber foam weather trim. It is 3/4 wide and 1/2 thick, is that too thick? housecor's tape says 1/2 too, but the tape looks really thick....

And just peel the trim back with your fingers. I am still not 100% satisfied with it, there is still some noise coming from the rear right window.

I also have a'ssloads of deadening in there, so it might just be making that section all the more noticable.

I used the tape listed in the TSB. Nissan part number 80339-2W100. It cost about $3.25 for a strip of it. I installed it and the noise went away.

I got some soft sticky foam like stripping -- and the wind noise was all gone. I did this over a year ago probably.

on installing some stripping and it didn't seem to help. I can still hear the noise, but it goes and comes. I may just order some of that stripping that's mentioned in the TSB...A few posts up it said it was only around 3 bux for a strip...

like everyone else said it works like a charm and if the stripping seems like it wont fit just stuff it, or get a smaller one and put a lot more in there.

You basically answered your own question there. Why would you worry about it if you can't hear it?
