the only perfect match are HID fogs, which is expensive but worth it

the super plasmas match well, but will crack your fog housing eventually

nothing will match hids, except hids. the fogs-light housing is very small, and almost no ventilatio in there. any high voltage "bluish" looking bulbs will burn out much faster than oem. the only other bulb i have heard wokrs well is sylvania silverstar. they are pure white, there is no blue coating on the lens at all, and they last. if you like the look of hid fogs, and would replace the piaa if they cracked one or two times, might as well cough up the dough, and buy the plug-and-play hid fog kit from the gd forums.
by the time you replace the fog bulbs a couple of times, you will have spend almost as much time and money as buying the hid kit.

the fogs will probably crack regardless of the type of bulbs you have, its only a matter of time. crack fogs will tend to blow more bulbs so if they're cracked you might want to stay with a cheaper bulb, buy new housings, or put laminx or something over the lens.

my fog housings cracked almost instantaneously with the PIAA's, no sign of impact either, so it was the bulbs doing that

i have had the HID fogs on for almost a year and no cracks in the housings
