was just doing a spark plug change since i had autolites and after reading some posts decide to get ngk platniums. and decided hey why not clean out the throtlebody, then was like why not the intake manifold as well. Well so 7 bottles of car/brake cleaner Later.....i got a clean intake manifold and throttle body. decided to go with a silver/white/black look. so i painted the iacv thing next to the throtle body which makes it look black stock, (you guys proably didnt notice it.) look back again!. Makes the whole intake kind of flow with the throttle body and thats it. if you know what i mean. Then decide to polish the head and timing cover since it was easy access since the manifold was off. and oh yeah changed a knock sensor while i was at it too. any comments or questions please feel free to ask or say even if they are negative. just a true opinion! Thanks for looking!

A polished plenum would probably get more attention.

You're getting there! Keep on sanding until you hit 2000 grit, then use some Mothers metal polisher and it'll be mint.

What tools are you using? If you're doing this by hand, major props to you!

it does look good, but as mentioned before, i think you just need to hit it up with some 2000 grit then use some good metal polish to finish it off...The IM does look really clean, though, so props to you on your work

Here are some shots of my old FD with a little polished aluminum. The Maxima's intake manifold should look the same polished.

tell you the truth. keeping your engine bay clean after polishing can get pretty time consuming. if someone can show me how to post some pics. i will post how my 3000 engine bay look like. i got the entire plenum mirror polished, spark plug cover, radiator cover, intake tube with valve covers powdercoated bright red. very subtle but real eye catching. only darn thing is keeping all the tarnish build up away. if you keep up with the maintence then you are good. got to keep repolishing or wadding and waxing everything. once every 2 weeks if you want to keep that mirror look.you could go to
3sxperformance.com to see a real nice vr4 with everything polished. its nice to have but i think i'm done with the engine bay. just keep it clean and take your time getting more power or keeping your max blinging. just my 02. i would also like to learn how to post pics so when my max is done painted, i want to post it in riders forum.
