One more question, my friends advise STRICTLY against lowering even with what I want(Illuminas+H&R's), they say I would have to change bushings like every week and the car will be like everything is loose inside.... What are the PRO's and CON's of lowering? Thank you.

 

I HAVE A 97 MAX. I WANT TO PUT Tokico HP Kit STRUT AND SPING KIT ON IT. $398 SHIPPED. HAS ANYONE HEARD GOOD OR BAD THINGS ABOUT THESE? SOMEONE TOLD ME THE STRUTS ARE GOOD,BUT HE DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE SPINGS. THANKS FOR ANY HELP.

 

i have tokico blues and eibachs on my 97. The previous owner had them installed before I bought the car from him. I live in new england and the roads around here are not very friendly for the setup. It's a fairly stiff ride and you defenitely feel every bump in the road. It does retain alot fo control however and is nice at higher speeds.

A lowered car is not going to be comfortable no matter what route you take so if you can get a good price, I'd say go for it.

 

Eibachs are one of the better springs available. They are pretty much the stiffest spring too. But the HP's are basically stock replacement struts. I wouldnt pair the 2, but the HP's a ok for softer springs like Tokico, H Techs, or H&R. They could wear out faster than an adjustable, but will offer a smooth ride.

 

I HIGHLY recommend not to lower the car, you live in brooklyn...! huge pot holes/bad roads. You WILL regret this with ANY lowering combination, i had a 240SX lowered and it was a nightmare, every bump it would bottom out and hit the bumpstops.

 

i drive on pretty bad roads and you won't bottom out but you defenitely feel really hard and sharp bumps.
