Ooglie Stock Cold Air Intake Question

If i do this mod will it make the car sound "deep throated" and give the engine a deeper sound? Will this also effect my fuel economy? Can i just be cheap and remove the elbow pipe that goes to the resonator? im looking for better sound, i dont really care that much for performace cause it has to be a low hp gain if there is one..

Perhaps, although I don't think it will be as noticable as porting a stock box or an actual cold air/ warm air intake.

The car had no snorkel when i purchased the car it i thought it sounded kinda cool. Does that elbow detach from the rest of the piping? it kinda loooks like it does..... I guess ill just have to find out if this will make my car sound different.

Even if you do not port your box and you just remove everything so that the air is coming in through the side of the box that will give so alittle noise. If you have a paper filter it will be less. You can just put everything back on after your findings as well.

I removed the elbow and it doesn't increase sound.
