Sometimes I can feel the throttle body/gas pedal sticking at idle, is this an issue? I had cleaned the throttle body recently. Is this an issue? Should I adjust the idle adjustment screw?

 

Try checking the linkage at the t/b for obvious signs of binding,it may a piece of trash in the linkage or throttle plate.also may be a bad pcv valve causing excess oil to build up on the throttle plate...

 

I got the same problem on an off. Sometimes i gotta really push on the gas peddle.Did my throttle body cleaning a couple of months ago.Checked linkage and plate. I be thinking its behind the pedal when the cables where loose from the cleaning. Or i gotta tighten the cable a lil bit more. but i beleive theres suppose to be some slack on there,so not to tight..

 

The cable could be splitting some where and getting hung up.

I checked the cables, they're ok. I can feel the sticking at the throttle body itself if I open it up by hand, so it's something inside the t/b. But the funny thing is, it only started after I did the t/b cleaning? Any ideas?

 

perhaps you damaged one of the throttle shaft bushings when you were cleaning it?

 

Did you open the butterfly and clean inside? Also the rear of the throttle plate itself? This sounds like varnish buildup on the throttle plate making it stick. Does it get better when the car warms up? I had this on my old MR2. Pretty exciting when the plate finally pops open.

 

right where the spring is on the TB..... clean where the spring is located... sometimes it hangs up in that area.

 

After months of stuck pedal finally fixed it.(been kind of lazy)Two turns on idle adjustment screw next to throttle did the job.

 

go to any wrecking yard in your local area and find a blown motor and take the throttle body off it. My wrecking yard would only charge me about ten bucks for a part like that.

But I would NOT take it off an engine that was outside of the car exposed to the elements because the moisture will corode the inside of the aluminum body of the tb. My choice would be a car that had just come in or one with low mileage and one that has a hood covering the engine(from the elements)
