Shocks and the big decision
Shocks and the big decision
So, I have spent way too much time researching this. And after reading what has seemed to be an endless number of threads I have come to the conclusion that I have no need to drop my car. My rear shocks are leaking bad, and its starting to show when at High speeds I hit a bump or dip in the road and the car just bounces like no tomorrow.
I still have not made a decision between the OEM KYB or Konico, any extra insight from the loads I have read in the uncountable amount of threads is appreciated.
My biggest question is the following... Only my rear are blown (seems to be a common issue). I will be replacing AT LEAST my rears, but should I replace all four shocks. Would there be a performance issue with aftermarket rears and oem fronts?
Thanks for the info....

i don't think you will have performace issues by replacing just the rears. you will like the ride more, if all four are replaced. i think a set of 4 tokico's is about $50 more than just the rears by themselves. might as well get them all. most aftermaket oem replacement shocks are a little stiffer than the actual oem. and having used shocks in the front will be even more noticable with new ones in the rear. you will thank yourself later if all four are done at the same time.
save the hastle and do all at once. Go aftermarket. You will see a great improvement in handling. WTF is konico? Did you mean tokiko? if so go with illuminas for performance and adjustability or HP's for stock feel and less to deal with.

So my next question is how do they feel different from stocks?

I have read too many threads saying that the Blues are just like stock, but ppl with illuminas dialing back their setting so it will feel like "Blues". If the Blues are like stock, whats the point of getting aftermarket struts? so I thought.
