Dealer Springs
Dealer Springs
Today I went to my local Nissan dealership for a front plate bracket, and this guy noticed my car and he really liked it. Then he showed me a slammed maxima gxe with sawblades. He said that it costs $80 for the drop, changing only the springs. Is it worth it? How would it feel with aftermarket springs on stock struts?
it can't be $80 for everything. i assume he is not changing struts as well, only using lowering springs. look through the stickies at the top of this forum and you can see what is involved and why it is a bad idea to stay with stock struts.
there is a chunk of work involved with swapping suspensions and very few shops will bill you for less than 2-3 hrs of work. your best bet is to find a local .org member and have them help you. some will do it for cheap and some may even do it for a case of their favorite tasty beverage...
check out chicagomaximaclub.net, also.

btw, why did he like your car so much? It looks stock on the outside to me....and if he works at a nissan dealer, stock 4th gens are probably a dime a dozen ....sounds like he was giving you a sales pitch to me.
