Car skips across bumps...

I have a '95 max GLE. When I first got it had all stock springs and struts but then needed new struts at about 70k miles. With all stock parts the ride was certainly soft but was way floaty and had awful roll in corners too. I decided to replace the springs and struts and went with Tein H-techs and KYB GR2s. Cornering was very flat and precise. But, the car was unnervingly harsh on even small road irregularities. When hitting any bump in the road the car wanted to just skip all over the place and felt like it wanted to change lanes -scary at times.

I read others here say that lowering springs and GR2s don't mix well so I went back to stock springs with the GR2s. The ride is better but it still wants to skip over bumps - just not as dramatically as before.

So are my GR2s the problem? I thought they were supposed to be almost straight OEM replacement with maybe a hair more firmness. Do all Maxes skip over the road or is there something about mine like the GR2s that's making it do that.

Go with Tokico Illuminas. They are stiffness adjustable and offer a pretty good ride. They cost about $408.

Yup. Car was aligned after each swap. It tracks straight and is a good ride on smooth pavement and in corners. But when it hits a bump...look out I might be coming in your lane...

Looks like my problem can be resolved with a good set of adjustables. Thanks to all who responded.
