Do 194 bulbs really equal 161 bulbs?
Do 194 bulbs really equal 161 bulbs?
I've seen them listed as such on various websites.
Reason I ask is, I'd like to replace my step light bulbs with blue ones but I can't seem to find any blue or "hyper white" 161 wedge bulbs. I assume the only difference btwn the 161 and 194 is wattage? Has anyone else found any blue 161 bulbs or can the step light wiring handle the increased draw of the 194 bulbs? Any help appreciated

Yeah, the only difference between the two are wattage. It's only a few watts, though, like 2 or 3 watts. Most hyper-whites are 194's. As far as running them in your step lights, they will not hurt anything just as long the wattage isn't outrageous like 10W or so. Most 194's are 5W, and hyper-whites will run like 5W-7W. They will run hot and may burn the bulb harness a bit, but it will be fine.
My bad dude, I forgot to take them off before I sold my car, but here's a good website to get them, pretty cheap too:http://autolumination.com/194.htm
