Any suggestions other than repainting the whole thing?

this color is a pain but looks great!

I have the sterling mist silver color and have many marks on my bumber from were people have rubbed it in a parking lot. I have not yet found how to cover those deep marks. You can try and use the tip of a tooth pick to draw some color back into the scratch.

98sterlingmistSE - JWT Popcharger Intake, Greddy Catback Exhaust, Stillen FSTB, fully loaded, and in the mail a Random Tech. Catalytic Converter.

I have tried several things for touch-ups...

and just saw another way recently. I was at a Nissan dealership and watched a paint guy doing some touch-up work on some cars using a hyperdermic needle. He had bent the needle slightly and could put a very small amount right where he wanted it. I am not sure if he thinned the paint out or not, but I would think it would hurt the paint if you did.

He also took a small piece of 1000 grit sandpaper and lightly (VERY LIGHTLY!!!) wet sanded the scratch, making sure he didn't go to deep. after he sanded, he took his polisher and polished over it and the waxed it. You couldn't tell where it was at all.

Hope this helped a little.

i got this stuff from www.griotsgarage.com called "fine hand polish", and i used it to take out bird doo etchings, and miscellaneous surface scuff marks. i havent tried it on a deep scratch, but according to their website, the only thing to do to a deep scratch is to polish it just enough to take the sharp edge off of it and to try to hide it with wax. it sounded like they were saying that it may be impractical to totally remove it without taking too much of the paint off.

another thing that i read in another post (this was about chips in the paint), but there is this thing called "langka" (try www.langka.com) that is used to finish off the chips. you paint over the chip, putting enough to fill the chip and some more), and when the paint has dried about 1 hour, you use the langka chemical, and a cloth wrapped scraper (they give you this plastic scraper), and rub the excess paint off until it is smooth with the original factory paint. i suppose this would also work for a deep scratch?

Griot's is the best. Since we are finishing our house in the next two weeks, i am going to start the Griot's Garage project. I have bought a ton of stuff from them and will be getting much more. All their products are great!

Re: griot's garage project?

Yep, I have been looking forward to having a garage again for the past three years. I probably won't go for the Falcom toochest, but one similar to it. Deffinitely the work bench and the florr paint.

I guess the best way is to list:

• Waxes and polishes
• 100% Cotton Cloths
• The Porter Cable polisher (fantastic!)
• Hella Horns (no more beep beep)
• Mechanic's gloves
• Channeled Black Rubber Mats (these were great during this past winter and during the building of our house, with all the mud.

I have some of the other stuff that is in the catalog but I bought it somewhere else. I have an ever growing list and just keep working down it.
