'94 DOHC in a '93?
'94 DOHC in a '93?
This at all possible? Bent a valve and mechanic doesn't want to do the valve job due to possible lower end problem developing. Jasper won't build one. Don't think I want to take chances with a used motor and I don't think the mechanic does either.
Nissan fixed the VTC problem in the '94 didn't they?
Search is giving me errors...

VE is VE whether 92-94. The only difference is the auto doesnt have a variable intake so if you have a 5spd you will want to be sure and swap the upper intake with the variable one if you get an auto motor.
I think if you go JDM you will have a couple of differences but never really read any of those threads.
Its still a good idea to do all the little things while the motor is out of the car. Those things are...water pump, knock sensor, rebuild VTCs, replace exhaust studs, replace oil seals (front and rear) on the motor, axle seals on the trans, and pull the oil pan and reseal it (may not be needed but I did it anyway). you will easily spend $500 on parts and gaskets for all of that though.
To be honest, I would not spend anywhere near $5k to put a rebuilt engine into one of these cars.
I will sell you my entire car for that and I will include a set of snow tires, a set of stock wheels, a spare transmission and a trunk full of spare parts.
Usually a Japanese engine can be found in the neighborhood of $700-$1k. That's just for the engine. The JDM engine I bought had a 1-year, unlimited mile warranty on it. If you buy a junkyard engine, it probably won't have a warranty, but will usually be quite a bit less.
There is a thread in the stickies about JDM engine swaps. There are a few things that will need to be swapped over on a JDM and some things that would be very wise to replace (like a new water pump, manifold studs) even if you buy a junkyard engine.

but my dad wont even let me fix up my engine on my car, since its my 1st car he wants it to last. so if i did a engine swap it wont literally still be stock. with more power.
so i just want a paintjob, lower it, and get rim(17s). And, a VE swap

kinda funny I just got an order for coil springs from there
Ok, made up my mind. Car is going into my garage, after I make room. heh Rebuild! I love this car too much to part it out.
I'd like a list of parts, if you guys don't mind. Perhaps some high performance replacements here and there. Cams? What else there? Anyone know what I'd need to do "IF" I swapped out the Auto for a manual? Can I do the newer six speed? I may ditch the A/C equipment though. What about the ignition and those bloody coil packs? No way I can ditch those for 1 coil and SP wires eh?
Was there ever a V6 max that used standard plug wires? I'd guess not since they are deep in the top of the engine.
Parts I already know of that are going to get replaced.
EGR, knock, VTC's, waterpump, Underdrive pulley, seals, erm brain dead, can't think of anything else you guys have mentioned. Oh, the ECU and finish the exhaust.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Theres info in the stickies in this forum about the 5 speed swap. Its pretty easy Ive done it.
Id say keep the AC unless your going to lighten the entire car. 40lb isnt that much for alot more comfort at the touch of a button. But after driving a few cars with and some w/o Ill go for the AC every time unless its a track *****.
The coil packs definitly help performance. And there no easy way to get rid of them unless you went with something like a megasquirt ECU. Its fully tunable and $170-300 http://www.megasquirt.info/
add a fidanza alu flywheel and your set, if you do a manual conversion.
