reverse light doesn't work properly

Ok so first of all, when I put my car in reverse when I'm parked, the reverse lights don't go on at all (I have a 5 spd). Then once I start moving, sometimes they go on right away and sometimes it takes about 5-10 sec for them to come on. It's especially frustrating when I'm trying to back out somewhere at night and can't see anything for a few sec until they finally go on. I have a STS installed so I'm thinkin that could have affected the sensor to the reverse lights or something...Anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks.

Its the sensor. I had to replace my, I think its typical wear and tear item, since the two contacts are made out of brass. You'll also need tranny fluid refilled, unless you can lean the car on the right side enough not to spill any.
