OK, I did some searches, but I didn't find anything conclusive.
In fact, I found conflicting reports in threads,
good and bad for either tire.

Tire Rack Sez:

Sumitomo HTR ZII - 235/45/ZR 17 - $119
[NE1 know the weight?]
Dry Traction 8.8
Wet Traction 8.3
Hydro Resistance 8.3
Cornering Stability 8.3
Steering Response 8.5
Ride Comfort 7.8
Noise Comfort 8
Tread Wear 7.6

Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 - 235/45-17 - $100
27 lbs.
Dry Traction 8.5
Wet Traction 8.3
Hydro Resistance 8.3
Cornering Stability 8.3
Steering Response 8.4
Ride Comfort 7.9
Noise Comfort 8
Tread Wear 8.1

Kumhos: last longer, better ride.
Sumitomos: better traction, steering response, better looking
The $19 difference hardly matters...
So, what do all a y'all think?

What you see (saw) is what you get (got)...

I doubt you'll find NE1 who has HAD BOTH of these tires to give a COMPARISON for you...

Right.
Didn't really expect I'd find somebody who had ridden both.
[But I thought I might get one and then when they wore out, try the others.
They'll probably only last about 30k or so anyway for either..]

Anyway, I was really looking for opinions.
So, how do you like your Kuhmos?

if u want good traction, steerin response blah blah (performance) go for s02 pole positions or s03 pole positions.. but they both dont have good tread wear ratings.. i think 6 or 7.

yeah well, I want alla that, sure

but I just checked TR:
the S-02s are $194 [special!]
the S-03s are $242.

And I'm hard on the tires as is
and performance tires wear out faster.

Maybe once I win the lottery...

kuhmos

I have those kuhmos, I just put them on 1 week ago, they look good and they seem to handle nice, but then again I don't drive like a freak and haven't really tested them much yet.

I've had my Kuhmos for a few months, and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

I like then much better than my Nitto 555's that I had.

Best tire for the money!

I'm plenty happy with them... especially when there is RAIN... they are excellent (relative) in water to any other tire I've had including the D40M2 I had on my Supra. Dry traction is good and noise is very low...
