P1456 - EVAP Emission Control System Very Small Leak (Positive Pressure Check)

My SES has been coming on periodically for about a week now and this is the code I pulled. P1456 - EVAP Emission Control System Very Small Leak (Positive Pressure Check)

Does anyone have any experience with this? Ballpark cost of repair if I take it to a shop?

TIA

- Clayton

Ive had the same code come on and off for about 3 years now! I had it checked at a Nissan dealership in Champaign, Illinois and was told that they traced it back to my Charcoal canister....also said it might be a little expensive but I didnt get it done. I believe they told me somewhere around 500 dollars.

Evap canister (located behind driver's side rear wheel) is only about $160. New evap purge valve: $80. You can replace both for $240 in about 15 minutes. Search and you'll find my write-up.

I have this exact same code being thrown at the moment. Where did you get your parts and do you have the part numbers? I wish to replace this stuff on my Maxima and get rid of this damn SES light.

This is a common issue with alot of Nissans. I have this code now and it has come on and off for about 2 months. Mostly on though. Seems to go off when I fill up sometimes. I was quoted about 200 for the canister and 1oo for the sensor. If you can get the crappy rusted bolts that hold the sensor on off the box you only need to get the sensor.

don't remember the part numbers. Just go to a dealership and buy the parts. Cannot get them at the auto-parts stores.
