Grille Kit Adhesive Inserts - Nice touch or cheap look?

So the grille to my max is looking a little faded and stained, and just not too shiny, ever since i bought it. So i've been researching options for painting, replacing, or modifying the grille. I came across this fairly cheap option on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these or has heard anything about them? It seems fairly low-risk. Do you think this is a cheap fix and it will show, or that its a good idea for the money? Opinions/suggestions very welcome. Thanks.

Did you have yours painted to match your car or did you have it painted with chrome colored paint? I had a thread discussing the car-colored finish, but i really like the chrome look. You mind providing info on how much you spent, and maybe even supplying some pics?

IMO these chrome strips are cheap and they look it. You could go to PepBoys and get the same chrome strips that they are selling on Ebay.

You should just repaint the grille all together. You could do this yourself for cheap too.

The chrome paint is kind of weird to work with. You'll have to spray from a distance and do a couple more coats then usual to get good coverage. I think you should match the car it would come out nice.

i had it painted body color. the paint, primer, and clear coat probably cost me just a hair under $50, and my friend painted it for free for me.

pics to come soon after i wash the car.

Paint it. Also paint your engine cover so you can look like me

just be sure to remove the hamburger b-4 you paint.

Thanks all for the advice. I'll agree that the strips would look cheap. The grille looks nice to match the car, and matching the engine definitely takes it to the next level. I'll sleep on it.
