my friend bought a short shift kit for his honda civic. the shift feel/throw after the install was unbelievable. i was wondering if my fellow maxima members were happy with their own shift kits. i am more into the road racing style than drag racing, so shifter feel/accuracy is also important to me. i would like to hear both sides. also, please tell me about the different manufacturers and the installation procedure..thanks a lot guys.

get one!

stillen: throw reduced, but stock height.
Pacesetter = SMC = great cheap sts. (short throw shifter) adjustable fulcrum point, and about 2 inches shorter than stock. great product. i have this. and i love it. the pacesetter unit is the same as the SENTRA. so.. dont worry if u can't find maxima listed.

GET IT!!!!!

Do you have to get an aftermarket shift **** for any of the STS listed (Stillen or Pacesetter) or can you use the stock one? Just wondering.

Nope I just used my 2k1 AE shift **** and twisted it back on the stillen sts. Man you will wonder why you never had this mod the whole time. The sts make driving the car so much more enjoyable.

I've got the Pacesetter STS... if you're bolts aren't all rusty, the install should be fairly quick & easy, and it's definitely worth the price. It was a pain in the *** to put in because I had to replace almost all of the bolts, but I would still recommend it to anyone, get it!

I have the Stillen STS. Its awesome. I love it. I'm thinking about cutting mine down, and putting a Momo shifter on it. The only thing is that I had a Momo shifer ****, and it was always getting loose.
