Piggy back/New ECU?

Hey yall,

I'm going to be supercharged sometime in the future, but right now I'm looking for some tuning options for while both still N/A and then later

I am definetly new to this subject of tuning and piggy back options, but I'm hoping I know enough now to understand what you guys are going to tell me

So can someone point me in the right direction of what products are good and what I should be considering for my application.

Thanks,

DF

GReddy Emanage Ultimate or Blue.

Have you looked through the set-ups in the SC/Turbo forum like I recommended?

Hell yeah I have, but then I got really confused.

I have to learn all about this stuff and about fuel management too, as I have no knowledge in either of the subjects.

Now the one concern I have with EU or EB is that it looks excessively difficult to wire into the car. I'm not sure if I'm up to that task.

If you can't even do that, then how are you going to install and maintain a SC set-up? Not trying to be a jerk, but you do realize that installing the piggyback is going to be one of the easier tasks.

Well right now wires and electricity are magical. I plan on researching it a lot more than just asking questions here, as I have with my supercharger project.

Like I said, I have no knowledge on this subject and right now it just seems impossible. And no, you're not being a jerk heh.

Which would you suggest I look into, EU or EB. EB seems to only be a fuel management unit while EU can do what looks like everything.

For basic N/A type tuning, the EB is fine and is better than any VAFC/SAFC, but for more advanced stuff the EU is definitely the way to go. I can't comment on FI applications, but I would assume the EU would be more useful due to what it can do.

Sorry for all of these questions, but thanks for you answers

Would it be more beneficial both performance-wise and just ease of install to have EU or EB all hooked up while I was still N/A? Could I achieve any decent gains just from tuning my stock car if I was to upgrade my fuel system?

Or should I wait until I have the supercharger set up before I add in electronics?

Assuming you get the same harnesses, the install is the same. Gains on a stock Max would depend on the current state of your AF ratio.

Not all of us are. If you have questions feel free to ask but dont just ask questions to skip the research part. You learn more when you research then us spoonfeeding. Good luck with the SC setup I will be doing one eventually on a A33 like you. Keep us posted. you might want to search the forums and find some other Orger's that have done the SC set up with an A33 good luck

FYI, you cannot change out your ECU and no one offers a reprogram for our ECU. It is difficult to get into and just not worth the money.

The only exception is swapping from a 00' auto ECU to a 00' 5-speed or the other way around if you swap your tranny. Thats it... So piggybacks are the only way for us to do any sort of tuning.

That sucks.

And again, yes, I will research, I was simply using this as a place to start my research from seeing that I know NOTHING about what is good/what works and I figured I'd ask the people that have done it rather than just typing in random things in google.

Thanks for all the responses though, right now EU looks real decent.
