6th-4th Gen wheel fitment

Hey everybody,

I was wondering if anybody could tell me if the wheels from a 6th gen maxima will fit a 4th gen???? My Maxima is totally stock with stock suspension and all too. They look like this:

http://media.trafficdriver.com/evox/...006/4sa/42.jpg

The size is 18x7.5. And if they do fit without rubbing or anything, then what size tire would I use. I could think about it and figure it out myself, but if somebody on here has had any experience with these wheels on their fourth gen and would be willing to fill me in then that would be a great help. And it would let me continue to be a little lazy and not do it for myself haha j/k.

Thanks
Anthony

tires.. NO CLUE.. but the car i saw them on were really low pro tires.. adn it was dropped on Ksport coils... looked good...

and then another 4th gen max i saw had the stock tires from teh 6th gen.. but i got the 4x4 feel from it... it was pretty tall..

i think i remember reading somewhere that it will rub slightly in the fronts due to the relatively high aspect ratio (245/45/18) but i might be confusing that with the 350z staggered tire set up. I really love how the 6th gen sits, the tires look so much wider then the 225's on my 02.

According to the tire calculator..
the total diameter of the stock 205/65/15s is 25.5 inches
now if you wanna go 18s.. i suggest you go with 235/40/18
the total diameter of those tires is 25.4 inches which is almost negligible.

Provided that you put those tires on the rims before putting em on your car.. you shouldnt have any rubbing or any speedometer issues.
But i personally think 18s with stock suspension will make your car look more like an X-terra if anything lol

I have this exact set up, with pics. I don't have time tonight, but I will post them soon. It will fit fine -- I have 225/40/18 tires. I first left the suspension stock, and it looked ok... but after installing maxspeed springs and kyb gr2's (~1.5 drop), it looked much better. And the wheels look great.

The diameter isn't the issue with any sort of rim upsizing ... that get's adressed by getting the appropriate low profile tire to achieve the required overall dimeter. The important thing is the offset and backspacing. The position of the mounting face relative to the wheel faces. Offset is the position of the mounting face relative to centre. Backspacing is the position of the mounting face relative to the INSIDE wheel lip face.

I did a lot of research into wheel sizes and tires, and will ditto most of what was said.
On 18" rims, 235/40 is the best. /45 will give you rub, /40 shouldn't.
Also, bolt pattern is the same 5x114.3 and offset shouldn't be an issue either.

And now that we are done with facts, my 2 cents is that 18 (no offense to anyone) look a bit over sized. 17" look perfect.
BUT if 18" is all you got, then by all means go for it. Just stay away from 19" or higher as that is just sad.

^ I have to disagree on 18's being too big for 4th gens. Look at my sig, 18's are perfect. 19's are too big.

BTW, I'm running 225/40's on my 18's.
