My car is made in 01/95 what ecu do I have?

 

A nissan one? or do u mean OBD I or II>

Look under the dash for an OBD 2 connector...

 

Is it by the fuse box?

 

lower and closer to the pass side, the one in the fusebox is different (consult port) if u cant figure it out go to autozone and ask them to scan ur car, if they can find the port its OBD 2 if not its 1

 

why is the PCM called the ECU?

 

PCM? The ECU is the engine control unit.

 

If you are looking for the OBDII port on your car, its on the passenger side. If you remove that plastic cover by where the passengers left foot would be (it covers the ecu wiring). It in there above the ecu. Sorry if this is not why you were asking the question but just thought I would throw that out there since I did not know where mine was when I first go my 95.

PCM = Powertrain Control Module
ECU = Engine Control Unit

I've also seen ECM and others. They all more or less refer to the same thing, the computer that controls various functions of your car. Hope that helps.
