I just got my Max done black on black 20% . The 35% would of been too dark and I really don't want to worry about cops giving me a hard time because of the tint.

What color car and interior?

20% Looks good. Not too dark and not too light.

I'd show you pics of mine, but I can't upload images here.

What's your email address? I will send you pics of my ride tomorrow with the new tints 20%. It's raining here today hard so can't do it today.

Dude tint ratings don't work like that, if you were worried about cops you should have gone with the 35%
20% is what I have and is most likely not legal.
Ill see if I can get some pics shown here.

BTW you can use www.imageshack.us to display images.

FYI...

Right on the display wall of the place I went to get my tints from all the shades of tint are displayed. 35% being the darkess and 20% being the 2nd darkess. 35%, 20%, 15%, 10%, 5%.

35% being the darkess
5% being the lightest.

I don't know could this reputable place have their numbers backwards???

I'm gonna have to back up 89blackse here, tint ratings work like this:

[Amount of light able to pass through] %

So if you have 5% Tints, 5% of the light is passing through therefore it is really effing dark, 0% tints would be solid black with no light in, and 100% would be completely clear. Your reputable place might have just been displaying the amount of tint, for example if you got 20% Tinted, your windows are 80%, 35% tinted, you have 65% windows.

State Tint Laws:

STATE = NY
FRONTSIDES = 70%
REARSIDES = 70%
BACK = ANY%
WINDOWVISOR = 6"
NET/FILM = NET

These laws may not be current and are often enforced differently by different PD's. In all cases, refer to you local authority for enforcement policies, current laws, rules or regulations. Your current state law is the final authority, not this website! The numbers represent the percentage of light transmitted through the tinted glass, so the lower the number, the darker the film allowed. Generally the films are sold as 5%(limo), 20%(dark), 35%(medium), 50%(light).
S.U.V.s often have different regulations, which are not listed here.
