My belts starting to slip i believe since i have no boost leaks and im running the 3.125 pulley but only getting around 5-6psi and i used to be up around 12psi. Also during startup and first couple of mins sometime the car squeels. How hard is it to change the belt or about how long should it take a mechanic to replace it?

Its going to probably cost you about 2-3 hours at a normal shop. If the belt is still in decent shape and not old, try tightening it up. Sounds to me its just streched with use. Usually when installing a New belt, you need to tighten it up throughout its life due to the stretch/factor.

Its best that you learn how to do it yourself. Saves you from forking out money each time as well as allows you to get to know your supercharger setup intimately.

Takes me 2 hours to take the supercharger off and 2 hours to put it all back together.

 

is there a right-up on how to do it. ill be checking the stickies right now.

 

It's a back breaker!! You cant just take it anywhere and get it done. Your best bet is doing it yourself. While your in replacing the belt you will need a new idler pulley (v1) , dayco 76mm with flanges. part # I think is .0083

Just another thing, do you think that the BOV could be letting out to much air b/c i watched my boost guage yesterday and i was hitting 7psi still but i was hitting it alot earlyer then redline where as i should be hitting peak boost at redline. Could that be something that i have to mess around with one night. Or do you guys think that it really is just the belt?

 

What type of BOV do you have ??

It doesnt take much for the belt to be lose and actually lose boost. Youd be surprised on how little it can be lose to effect it.

Blitz dono model numbers or anything. But it has an adjustment screw on it.

 

you want alittle air coming out at idle. I have the same bov. The way I try to set it is by reving the motor and setting the bov to fully release between 2500 and 3k rpm. As the temp drops the bov will need to be adjusted to accomidate for the increase in air (cold air= more air)
