Scraping noise coming from wheels when turning. Nissans says its my pads.

So I took my car to nissan today for some work, one was that when I turn very slow, I hear a low scraping noise from my front wheels. They told me that is because I have aftermarket pads on and that using nissan pads will correct the noise (I dont know what kind of aftermarket pads are on currently). What you guys think? Is this true or BS? Anyone had this noise before?

Could be a dust shield rubbing on something, or a shim hitting the rotor.

Are the rims new and you have just installed them on your Maxima? If they are, they probably had wrong offset. If the rims are not the case, check the brake-calibers if they are stuck.

i had a similar problem when one of my front pads was completly worn away, and it started grinding the rotor, especially when i would go in reverse slowly with the wheels turned. i'd say have a brake shop check it out. and as soon as possible. my rotor is trash now.

I have the same noise (when turning while moving slow). I took my 2005 Maxima SL to the dealer to have them diagnose the noise. The dealer said it was the front pads, so I had them put on new genuine Nissan replacement pads. The noise is still there. I'm planning on making another appointment with the dealer to have them look at it again.
