clutch binding noise

sometimes, not all the time. When i release the clutch in 1st (only 1st) i get this sound as if theres something rubbing. the sound sounds like a metal echo sound, like something is rubbing but causing a lot of noise. I know this is hard to describe but if anyone has anything similar to this please mention it! thanks

P.S. the clutch was replaced recently along w/ two front axles.

Does it sound like you lined up a bunch of wood beams and ran down the row really fast with a baseball bat. Thus a very fast thunk thunk thunk thunk ... like a minimum of 20 times within 3-4 secs? I got it too and don't know what it is. I think it means uneven clutch surface. Expert please chime in.

yea, id say thats the best sound description, sorta a metal thud like a baseball bat, or wood thud. except mine is a slower sound and it only happens once. its one thunk that is slow, as if if u took the sound on the computer and slowed it down digitally. its almost like a squeak except it doesnt squeak, it makes that metal sound slowly. This is getting really indepth! haha, hopefully someone can give some insight.

Just to state the facts, I have the stock flywheel (never resurfaced) and the stock clutch at 146K. I have put her through a couple of spirited drives, but I am pretty sure the previous owner didn't since he was older. I purchased the car with 143K.

Could be the throw-out bearing, sounds like a similiar sound before I upgraded to 6puck.
