PIAA 194 hyperwhite bulbs suck

I picked up 4 PIAA hyperwhite 194 bulbs up about a year ago. I put 2 in the doors and 2 in my side markers. After about 6 months I noticed my sidemarkers turning to the yellowish stock looking bulb color. I pulled them out and noticed that the blueish coating on them that makes them the "hyperwhite" color flaked off. I went to switch the door bulbs to the sidemarkers and noticed they also began to flake. So I brought them back to the place I got them from and he replaced all 4 bulbs for free. He thought they were defective. I was very careful this time to not get oil from my hands on them. It's been about another 6 months and they are flaking again. These bulbs suck. I guess i'll give the polargs a shot and see if they hold up any better.

I have Polargs and they are awesome. I've seen the Piaa's and the seems to be a little more bluish than the Polargs. However since I got an HID kit the white color is sooooooo over powering that my Polarg's look greenish when they are on together.

Where did you order them from? Maybe you did get fake ones because I've never heard this from any other person with PIAA.

The thing with LEDs is that they appear a bit blue instead of white. I had other brands and they all looked pretty much the same, blueish. Maybe PIAA's LEDs don't look like that?

LED's color is normally determined by what material is used. So if you can find out what material piaa uses for their white LED you can cross reference it with an LED color chart and see if it matches the color you want.
