that makes me sad....That's what I don't like about living in the city now, and having no garage/driveway to put my car in at night...not to mention it's left out all day during school...All i can say is i'm glad i'm not in the NE with my maxima, and I hope that crap doesn't spread to louisiana...

Do you really think Datadots are really going to be effective? Somehow, I doubt thieves care or even know about them.

That sucks man. Same thing happened to my dads 03 when he was at work parked in a guarded lot. His new lights have datadots and the whole idea seemed kinda useless to me.

yea i had datadots...the guys who did this were really good at it not gonna lie...a clean steal lol kinda impressed yet unbelievably pissed nonetheless.

as for the downgrade to the 2000 lights with HID, no. i got the car for 3 reasons, 6speed, 3.5 instead of 3.0, and those HID's. Everything i wanted in a maxima. so im just gettting a new alarm with proximity sensor, 2way pager, etc. and it has a 2500 dollar guarontee or whatever from viper so i might as well. it can only help. and also im getting hella supertones for it just for that extra umph for the horns...however first i gotta get my baby fixed up.

Wow, that sucks man. Sorry to see your car like that. I would be wary to own a 5.5 gen if I lived in the NJ, NY area.

I just don't understand how people can just walk into an open area and steal headlights. You have no cover. All you need is one person to either enter the parking lot or walk into the parking lot and you're busted. I mean I guess they did it overnight, but still...

That sucks dude, if I were you, when the lights get replaced I would park in the same spot, have a buddy park nearby and somehow rig a camera to the bumper or something, and catch this a*shole in the act. Then tear his eylids off, shove his face in front of the headlight, and put the highbeams on. Ok maybe that's a bit harsh, but at least lay the smack down on him.

By the way, why didn't an alarm go off when the window was broken? It's a 2002 car, I would assume that it comes stock with something to sense the broken window. Maybe not though...

Happy birthday anyway!

Wow that must have hurt to walk to your car and see that. It makes me glad that I live in a gated neighborhood, and when I'm not at my house I'm at my job which has 4 security guards always driving in the parking lot. No one would break into my car, theres alot nicer stuff. I remember at my old house 4 years ago my brothers maxima got broken into. They stole his stereo and about $2000 worth of cds. He got the money for the stolen cds from insurance.

i think it's for the iPass. my uncle has something like that on his car because the windshield on his car is too thick for the regular iPass.

People are so brazen these days. I work on a DoD facility in PG County Maryland (known as a crime hotspot). I went outside of our guarded compound for lunch the other day and just happened to notice a Sedan deVille with blingy large (20s?) chrome rims on it, parked in the lot of a small shopping center, not 10 feet from a major road, and in plain view of every car driving by.

When I left work at 5pm, the same car was there....sitting on 3 cinderblocks and a rusty old jack. All 4 wheels gone. I'd say that probably 20 people must have seen this happen, if not more. There is ALWAYS heavy traffic there. Hell, its 100 feet from a guard post for the military base.

But nobodyprobably wanted to get involved, because it could end up with them getting shot or something.

Probably the same thing here....it's a shame...

Here's something to consider for the alarm. Include a Carbon Moxide alarm horn inside the car and somehow tie it in with the main car alarm with a 30 second delay.

If you've ever been within 5 feet of those Carbon Monoxide alarms, then you know what 3 seconds of exposure to that piercing sound can do to you.

Make sure to buy the extra backup battery and an extra alarm siren to be safe. Hide both of those deep so they're hard to find and get to.

Even if a car has an alarm the thief can simply smash the window, pop the hood, and unplug the battery or cut the siren. Your alarm won't go off for more than 10 seconds if they're quick. If the extra battery and siren is a pain in the *** to get to, it might scare them away and your pager will also be going off.

that hurts to see, the bumper doesn't look damaged to me. but look like they took the time to take the headlight out, without actually ripping it out

Looks like a Rutgers parking lot in New Brunswick - which one, if I may ask? (I'm a local)

Sorry to hear about your car man.

edit:

also, get in touch with Don (Pearl96Max) for all your alarm needs. Seriously, you will not be disappointed. He's about 5 minutes from Livingston campus.

Sorry, that this happend to you and this is my story.

I bought this one couple years ago and went with it to New York to visit my father. This happend on Manhattan in the evening started to rain and my father told me that "tonight they will break into my car because it is raining and Iam on out of state plates" so I did not listen to him and did not put this car in parking lot but I left it few cars away from his door apartment. Next day both headlamps were gone, ther was small cut under driver door handel, missing leather jack, B M shoes and Cds. Did some research and in NJ/NY Maxima customers have law suite against Nissan for Making this hadlamps so expensive. There is a kit and special bolts that you install, which make it difficult for them to remove.

I have some parts from interior and door window if you are interested. Check make photobucket account for the Max I had and parts that I have
