Tire inflation on Max vs. I30

I happened to notice in the 4th Gen thread that factory recommended inflation for Maxes is different for front vs. back, whereas I30's run the same all around.

Is that split recommended for all 4th Gen Maxes...or just the SE's (which have stiffer rear springs)?

If the split is recommended for all Max models, and the I30 is supposedly the same under the skin, they why is there a difference?

Tire inflation is different between the front and back on the I30 as well.

Yea some punks at a tire shop really messed me up. They over inflated my tires to 50 psi and I didnt notice for a little and messed up my tire wear a bit. I have 225/35/20 rates tires. I normally had them set around 35 PSI I think it was. Is that right for 20's on our cars?

You don't wan't to over inflate the tires. The max PSI is on the side wall. You better check it.

Not on mine. The recommended pressure is 29 PSI front and back.

Hmm... 97 label under the lid of the center console says 29 rear, 30 front. I would not look too much into small variances like 1 PSI.

The touring have totally different recommended inflation levels. 32 PSI or some thing if I remember correctly. Its not due to the stiffer 'sport' springs (if you even want to call them that), but due to the fact that they run larger tires than the non touring models.

I'm running 215/60/15 (stock is 195/65/15), and 32 PSI seems to be the best all around inflation numbers.

That is the size that the touring models run as well. So 32 PSI is perfect. I'm running 235/45/17 tires and I inflate them to 32 PSI all the way around. I've gotten pretty even tire wear at this level.

If you're asking me, then the answer is "Yes. I just replaced all four about two months ago."

OK I got it now.Took a closer look today and seen the max while seating is 40 psi and the max tire preasure is 50 psi. So I should go 75% of 50 psi?
